Game Journal, Winter 29, First Year
This is nothing more than a journal from my first game.
First of all, I have discovered that an invitation to the other Festivals can be made on the very day of the Festival despite the early announcement by Woolby three days prior to it. I have seen a number of guides with false data claiming you must make the invitation days prior to the Festival. Not true at all!
Why does it matter? Many possible reasons. First of all, if the character you wish to invite requires a higher level to do it, you have more time to mert and give gifts. Second, if you are unsure which character will give you the best experience, it really is better to reload on the day rather than going through more than one day to test different date scenarios.
As I was not saving the results, however, I decided to test some other things.
I have been both punctual and dedicated whenever I made a date with any one. I have a date with Pilika on the 29th. I decided to skip it to see how she would behave.
When I talked to her on 1 Spring, she did ask why I had not met her for the date and said she was worried about me when I was not there. When I apologised, however, I had a chance to make a new date. Moreover, her level remained fully at maximum. So it did not affect her feelings at all.
And she asked if I wished to go to the shrine with her for the New Year... so it is possible even here to wait for 1 Spring to choose a date.
Since my victory for Azuma, I have put off marriage to experience all dates with every one, including the girls. In fact, only a few of the girls remain to be crossed off the list.
Apart from my rigorous dating schedule, I spend my time trying to conplete quests to defeat Level 80 Monsters, trying to find rare fish, and finding the Frog Statues I missed.
I still cannot find the recipe for Glazed Sweet Potatoes. I performed all sorts of leaps on a windmill to reach a Chest and a Frog in the Autumn Wilds, but it gave me three Spanish dishes instead of any Sweet Potato Recipe. It is very frustrating. I have that ongoing bizarre quest to make dishes for a Sage of Sweets in the sky. Again, internet guides are flawed as to the location for this. After: A different windmill was required to reach the Frog that gave the Glazed Sweet Potato Recipe. It has taken awhile for me to realise a position on the map does not include altitude information!!!
Now, I experienced the Snow Festival with Kai and saved the results because he is irresistable, despite his excessive love of what he calls booze. Thinking about that, however, I realised that sake always is a suitable offering to the gods in Japan and many other lands and he is a god. Not quite like a human man sleeping off his drunken orgy in a ditch night after night instead of coming home to a loving spouse.
I did save in another file before asking any one and then invited Murasame out od curiosity. Murasame was my first 'crush' but festivals with him have been very disappointing. Even at this one, he went on and on about HIS training. It is so odd that when the man complains of the cold, there is no offer to cuddle! When Kai suggested 'scootching closer' under my parasol in the rain, I actually snapped at him that I was a parasol pro rather than taking the opportunity to feel his warmth on a cold rainy day. I would have given myself a slap were that possible. Stupid girl!
Back in my real 29 Winter file, I found the Frog again with the three Spanish dishes, then suddenly wondered if the other Frog was reached via a windmill as well. Unforttunately, it was nearly noon abd I was mot going to miss my date with apilika!
As I have remarked before qbout the dates tgat occur after I save Azuma, Pilika's is another that requires you to go outside your usual comfort zone. You will not even see her until you go to the Entrance to the Winter Forest. The date begins there.
Near the end, you will discover she has the ears of a bear under her pretty Arctic cap. Kai is looking more and more ordinary!!!
8 Spring, 2nd Year: Going from venue ti venue, searchinh for the elusive Fliubder. At 11.09 p.m. Kai probounces hinself 'ready to kusd some ass'. I respond: 'Too late, my Oni Prince. We friytered the day away catchibg weird fish lije a baskwtful of Throbby Snapper.
And Clarice suddwnly shouts out tgat she caufgt a fish. 'Good for you, Sugar Plum, or wjatever you call yourself nowadays. It was a difgicult morning, girlwise. I had to deal with a date with Kanata who spent hours trying to choose a hair accessory for me and when it came time to pay, like my infamous sister, had left her pocketbook behind. So hours spent for absolutely nothing. I would have liked a little tiara! Or something more than a wasted afternoon after I had been teased with a promise of diamonds. Even worse was the Spa where she paid for total privacy, rather like Elizabeth Taylor long ago paying for all of Disneyland to be denuded of crowds for a day, but then I acted like a brainless idiot when she tried to join me in the water. What was that about? We both were wearing bathing gear!
I spoke to Cuilang at 6.00 a.m.
He said he needed a break, that his syatems had run down. Not going to marry a nocturnal guy, whether running on natural blood flow or electricity. This beings me to another new development. Kurama now is playing games online! I thought he loved classical board games like shogi and Go! Now he has descended from being a ahy deity to joining the WoW crowd. Not certain I want THAT life either.
I long for the day when I can put all these romances with the women to bed and fix upon a spouse. I just hate that groan Kai makes when we are fishing... if I could rid him of that and make him kiss me without the masque, it would be ideal. Murasame is too self obsessed and I do not like the fact that he had a semi erotic past with 'Sunny'. Subaru is a darling now. He is my childhood sweetheart... but look how badly that ended in the real world with a guy who became a common thief despite having millions. I doubt Subaru has any inclinations to go that way but ...
How can one forget the cute blond blue-eyed adventurer from Italia? He gives me precious gems where some of the others respond with a Potato and Level 1 Potato at that!
