Rice and Ruin Quests



'Of Rice and Ruin Bundle'

One of the beauties of Nintendo back in the day was that a game cartridge once purchases held everything that had been created for the game.  With the proliferation of online ganes, Nintendo began to offer little extras.  I personally think it is a pity that this was not included with either the regular or the Limited Edition of the game. 

Here is how to obtain it.
First of all, you must be signed into a Nintendo account.  Do not go to the Nintendo shop though on your Switch.  Go to Guardians of Azuma and then Downloadable Content.  Here is where it may seem tricky.  You need to use the round movement knob on the left to scroll down until you find the free 'Of Rice and Ruin bundle'. It is not visible otherwise.
Purchase for free.   Choose it, and it will download.  You need to close the game and then reopen it. 

I knew nothing of this until I was battling daily in the Forest of Beginnings.  A friend reached out to me asking about a quest on her Ema Board.
Investigating I discovered there is a free DLC that gives a villager named Sakuna.  She is kind of a hybrid between character and villager.

If you have not complrted tge amecganical Maze, she will not become available until the new mikoshi is built.  A notification appeared on the screen after I was told in a new game that everything was ready but we needed to rest and hold the festival the next day.

Once the Download is complete, you bring her to the Autumn Village by going to the Ema Board where there is a new quest:

A Farmhouse for a Princess
  You must Construct and place a Farmhouse in an Autumn dev zone.

As soon as you accept the quest, you will be given the Farmhouse.

You must place it in an Autumn dev zone and keep it there to experience the other quests and keep Sakuna in Azuma.

After this is accomplished, the next quest appears:
The Power of a Harvest Goddess
Plant rice in Sakuna's current village
Defeat an oni

Reward: 100 Lumber, 100 Material Stone, 2000 Gold

Next:
Oni Extermination
Invite Sakuna to join your Party
Defeat an Oni

Reward: 
Rice Seedling Lv 3 x 10
Fire Crystal x 5
3000 Gold

She is a Level 20 Attacker wielding a mallet.

Remember to accept the quest before you perform the required tasks.

I am not entirely cerrain about this but it appearex she created rice paddies abd planted rice in an Autumn dev zone that had water before I had any rice paddies I could place.

She is handy in combat if you are at the same early Level yourself, in other words, for me, 10 Spring in the first year.

How the Fateweaver Shrine Fates work in Guardians of Azuma

I read descriptions about this.  I read opinions of players who had different reasons for wanting or not wanting to do it. I am the sort of player who has back up files.  I saved a file at the point of planting the Plum Sapling where every eligible candidate was at Level 10, had gone through all Bonding Events and would accept my proposal if I made one. I went forward from there and married Kai, and had two children with him.  At this point, the game was given an update with new rewards and ability to increase Bond Levels.  In the file where I was married to Kai, I raised every character with a Profile to Level 12 to obtain a Life-sized Cut Out Recipe. All Villages were at Level 10 and I completed all the Pure Azuma Quests. I was promoted to god after returning the Heart Shards to Mihoshi Habaki. What I had not done was go through the Trials.
