Festivals in Guardians of Azuma

Woolby always will advise you to invite some one to go celebrate any festival with you.  The advice first will be given at 6.00 a.m. three days prior to the Festival.  It may be repeated on subsequent mornings but it certainly will be mentioned on the actual morning of the Festival that if you have not yet invited some one, you need to do it now.
Some of these Festivals give you choices that impact the individual who will celebrate with you:
For example, for the Fireworks Festival, you must go to Matsuri at the Summer Shrine before 5.00 p.m. to help her by designing a special Firework.  Do not choose what would appeal to you most but rather that might appeal best to your companion for the Event.  There are hints in the indivifual's Profile or perhaps a special gem or other valuable item you are given on your birthday by that person.

Kai is very easy to suss out.  He loves Purple and the bigger the bang, the better.

If you get it wrong, there are no consequences in terms of Friendship really, but if the response to your special design is less than enthusiastic, you might feel that you have failed.  I take these things far too much to heart.  I was very upset when Murasame was indifferent to the same deluxe firework that wowed Kai, chosen because purple is MY favourite colour, so it kind of served me right.

Mauro gives Amber as a special gift, so the choice of a dazzling deluxe yellow firework gave him a thrill.

I felt like an abysmal failure with Kurama when I made him an elegant red firework and he mainly complained that the noise gave him a migraine.  I do believe I failed to please Ikaruga as well who declared the firework definitely was the work of an amateur.

The Lantern Festival and Snow Festival really simply give you more insight into the character of your companion.

The other Festival that gives you choices and in some cases, possible tangible effects is the First Pilgrimage.

I did not realise this at first.  I always chose the wish to have a closer bond with my companion or give him or her protection or safety.  I thought that showed my love most effectively but it appears that this is not the best option.

Kai at First Pilgrimage

With Kai, there are no wrong choices.  I thought that the wish for 'really tasty food to eat' would be met with a reproof, but in fact he embraced it with enthusiasm:
