The Secret Desires of Takumi and Kusatsu

At Level 12, Takumi immortalises himself by giving you the life-sized Cutout.  the Cut outs of some characters like Clarice require precious gems but the one of Takumi  can be made with nothing more than Material Stone and Lumber, so in theory, you could have a hundred of them plaved in every nook and crqnny of your Villages.  I placed one in front of the other Carpenter shops.  Not certain how they feel about that, but Takumi deserves recognition for his role in restoring Azuma.
He laughs uproariously whenever you go to see him, but there is a deep undercurrent of sadness and anxiery in the man.  He confesses he has insomnia.  If you choose the option to sell items to him, it is obvious he has been forced to sell items just to make ends meet in the past.

Perhaps the fact that he became a Monster temporarily due to the blight has traumatised him.  Ulalaka speaks of him almost as the very heart of the Village.  He spends some of his sleepless nights worrying about Iroha and little Suzu.

Then there is Kusatsu who claims he feels invisible most of the time.  As you befriend him, some of the resukting conversations can be almost painful as he makes awkward jokes about you being head over heels in love with him.
