Reaching the Isolated Islands of Azuma

There are a number of places in the seasonal wilds of Azuma that cannot be reached without Fubuki’s Parasol.  The first of these is the Isolated Islet in the Spring Highlands.  If you go to the Save Point at the Vast Plateau and move eastward to find a wooden platform, you can glide to the Isolated Islet.

I find it very difficult to find that particular platform every single time for some reason.  Another approach is to find a high rock and look towards the East.  You will see a wooden platform that actually is on a small attachment of land to the west of the main land mass of the Isolated Islet.  Glide from the rock to that platform and then cross the suspension bridge to find the Dragon Save Point for the area.

Next will be the Summer Remote Island.


Apart from Islands, and Hot Springs, there are secret areas.  One is the Winter Torii Gate.  You do need the Parasol for this.  Go to the Crevasse Save Point.  Take the air stream across to the other side.  Go immediately to the Frog with a torch on either side.  You will see an air stream behind him and a Red Torii Gate high in the mountain on the far side.  Sail across and take the narrow path through the mountain to a  new Save point.  One chest there has a Snow Path but the other holds a rare Rune Crystal.

Introduction to Guardians of Azuma Guide

Introduction: Please see my Walkthrough posts for a linear guide to this game. This is a complex and rewarding game.  I fell in love with the series when the first Rune Factory was released and my guides were being published by IGN.    How could one not love the idea of Harvest Moon that introduced a forge and combat?  Decades later, and a number of different handheld systems later, we have the greatest Rune Factory game since the incredible Rune Factory Frontier for the Wii.  In fact, it reminds me most of that game with similar beauty and rather profound emotional investment. Guardians of Azuma, although multi-layered and very complex, contains a wealth of tutorials and is much more forgiving in terms of goals.
